We have four ways for you to be poured into this Advent so that you arrive on Christmas morning ready for Christ’s birth and not so depleted you frankly are a bit numb to the whole season. Visio Divina Packet for Advent ($9.99)

To guide you in a holy Advent pause, Elizabeth Forshee has chosen a piece of artwork to compliment a weekly reading to grow our sense of vision, imagination, and hope found in the gospel narrative. You’ll receive a packet with the images and guide for use. In addition, you’ll get a supplemental packet with extra information about each work of art and reflection questions for the week.

Making Room Retreat with Lori Ferrell ($25)

This retreat offers an opportunity to pause and consider how we can make room (hold space) in our lives during a busy time of the year. We will engage in contemplative spiritual practices and creativity to help us reflect, and then have a time to share with the group what is stirred in each of us. You are welcome to participate in any way that feels comfortable for you. My hope is that you will feel encouraged and inspired to make room for noticing your loving Immanuel during the Advent season.

 

Supplies needed: art or printer paper, journal, pen/pencil/colored pencils/crayons (whatever you have access to), candle (real or with a battery)

Friday, December 1st from 7:00 a.m. MT/9:00 a.m. ET  to 8:30 a.m. MT/ 10:30 a.m. ET. This retreat is 1.5 hours. Time zone converter here.

The retreat will not be recorded to create a more intimate experience. We hope you can join! The retreat includes the Advent Visio Packet.

Laboring Toward Hope Retreat with Elizabeth Forshee ($25)

This retreat offers an opportunity to express our longings and desires for our ministry, life, and God’s Kingdom through various forms of prayer leading toward a movement of choosing Hope in the midst of darkness. Hope is a promise, but one we must choose. This retreat will help us join together in laboring with God toward Christ’s hopeful vision of all things made new.

Supplies needed: paper, colored pencils/pens.

Friday, December 15th from 5:30 p.m. MT/7:30 p.m. ET  to 7:00 p.m. MT/ 9:00 p.m. ET (so those in Asian Time can join there Saturday morning.) This retreat is 1.5 hours. Time zone converter here.

Need the space and accountability to avoid “Autopilot Advent?” With this option, you’ll participate in a 1.5 hour retreat (Dec 1) near the beginning of Advent and another retreat in the middle of Advent (Dec 15). How do I access a workshop I purchased?

In the upper right hand corner of the homepage you will see a place to log in. You will use the email and password you created when you purchased. If you forgot your password, don't worry, you can make a new one. When you log in you will see all of the workshops and courses your purchased. Enjoy!

How long do I have access to a workshop?
Forever! Once you purchase a workshop it will be added to your personal portfolio called “My Trellis.” Enter the username and password you created and you will find all of your workshops in “My Trellis.” You may watch a workshop as often as you like.
Can I pause my workshop?
Yes, you can pause at any time—for instance to take notes—and then continue listening when you are ready.
How long is a workshop?

They are videos that tend to run between 45 and 55 minutes. We want you to get your money’s worth without being overloaded.

What is the “notes” feature
I don’t know about you, but I have notes written in this notebook, or on that piece of paper, or on a handout . . . that I either I can’t find, or forget about. We want you to be able to have all of your notes in one place that you can easily access. Every workshop will have a “notes” button below the video, click on it and a notebook will open up on the right-hand side. You may take notes as you listen to the workshop. When you are finished, click save” and your notes will be saved in the “Notes” section of your My Trellis. You may also print or download your notes. At any time you can edit, add to, or delete from your notes. We have formatted your notes so that when you download them they look nice and you shouldn’t need to reformat.
How much does a workshop cost?

The month that a workshop goes live, it is available for $9.99. After the initial month, the workshop will still be available for $19.

Who can participate?
All are welcome! While the Workshop is crafted especially for people who are serving overseas or plan to serve overseas, many of the workshops will offer something to anyone with an interest in Christian cross-cultural work. If you purchase a workshop, it is intended for you and one other (a spouse if married, or teammate if single). Many workshops will be beneficial for a team to watch and discuss together. I clicked on the workshop in My Trellis and nothing worked.
I think you might have clicked on the workshop graphic art. Scroll down and near the bottom of the page you will see Course Content. Under course content you will see the name of the workshop you purchased. Click on the title and you will be able to watch the video.
Do you have closed captioning or subtitles?
At this point, no we do not. The workshops are presented in English.
What if I am a more sensitive area of the world?
We are aware of your sensitivities! I have asked presenters not to use the “m” word and instead talk about cross-cultural work, global workers, and our line of work. You, however, know your context and if these guidelines are enough for you.
