Buffets can stress me. I tend to walk along looking at all of the options, not sure if something better is going to come along, so I get to the end of the line with very little on my plate. Then I sit down next to someone whose plate is stacked so high with food because they said “Yes!” to everything.
Sometimes Global Trellis can feel like a buffet.
Enter the idea of the “JJ Term.” You might have had a J Term at your school, where the month of January had unique opportunities that didn’t fit into the first or second semester. During the J Term, you could go on a service or learning trip, spend intense time taking a course, or use the time to rest and regroup.
What is the JJ Term at Global Trellis?
Just like in school, there’s going to be a flurry of activity the next few weeks getting you set up for your JJ Term; then things will settle down and you’ll have most of June and July to focus on what you’ve “signed up” for.
Drum roll, please! Here are your options—you can choose more than one!:
1. This week you can enroll in Annual Debrief or Annual Family Debrief. Traditionally, debriefing can cost thousands of dollars, assuming you can find a debrief option with openings. That’s ridiculous as your only option. We believe that debriefing should be like doing laundry–a part of life. Having clean clothes makes a subtle, yet important difference in your day or week. Debriefing can be the same in your life.
The self-paced debriefing is designed to spend about two hours a day for seven days. There are options for individuals, couples, and families. The doors are open this week to enroll, and then you can schedule the debrief at your convenience. Get the debriefings here.
(Enrollment open May 28 (now) -June 2, available for organizations to purchase in bulk as part of their member care)
2. NEW course alert: Write Interesting Newsletters. You know that communicating with supporters is vital to sustain your ministry with prayer, finance and advocates. But you spend more time thinking about newsletters than actually writing them. If newsletters hang over you, if you feel you have nothing to say in a newsletter, if you’re ready to take your writing to the next level, or unsure how to communicate your life and ministry … You don’t have to figure it out on your own.
With this self-paced course, free up mental space devoted to newsletters. Instead of thinking about writing, put fingers to the keyboard and keep your supporters praying for, financially supporting and connected to you and your ministry.
(Enrollment open June 5-16, available for organizations to purchase in bulk as part of their member support)
3. June and July will have workshops . . . with a new feature! A short quiz. Want the satisfaction of knowing you got the gist of the material? Now with the optional quizzes, you can 😊.
4. No new articles during JJ Term.
Need to rest and reflect? The Annual Debrief is for you. (Get it here)
Want to focus on a part of ministry life that can be neglected and WIN when it comes to communicating with supporters? Then Write Interesting Newsletters is for you. (Preview it here, doors open next Monday)
Want to enjoy the cozy winter days or warm summer skies? Then taking time to poke around the Topic Library where you can read articles and find workshops is for you.
Welcome to JJ Term where you’ll find what you need to tend your soul and build your skills.
We’re so glad you’re here.
